The Expert At The Restaurant Table PDF
Wayne's bestselling book on how to double, triple or quadruple your work by getting a residency is now available as a PDF.
In 2012 I recorded a podcast with Stephen Leathwaite called “The Road Mage Podcast”. We discussed many subjects on the podcast, but no other subject evoked so many questions than ideas for getting restaurant residency work.
-
How do I get the job?
-
How much should I charge?
-
How does it differ from a normal gig?
The biggest response I got though was people saying I should put all the information into a book, and after two years and a lot of writing and rewriting you now hold the result. I wanted to avoid the kind of book that is packed with filler, pages upon pages of words with no value. This may not be a big book, but the pages are jam-packed with solid principles and workable ideas.
Over the last 10 years I have made a healthy and very steady income from regular work in the restaurant market. During times when the regular gigs, weddings, trade shows and parties are a little slow, I am still earning proper money and generating contacts.
A lot of the ideas in this book are not exclusive to residencies, you can apply them to your normal gigs too. Working in restaurants is a lot of fun, you get to know the staff and the regulars, you build contacts and work out new material.
All the information in this book has been tried and tested over many years, I hope you will enjoy reading it and then have a lot of enjoyment from going out and doing it.
Wayne is the go-to-guy for getting a residency as a paid magician. His help and advice has earned me three long term residencies that has brought in thousands of pounds worth of income.

Restaurant magic is something that is completely unique in this business. Approaching tables is completely different to any other gig, you will come across families, couples, parties, corporate parties, hen and stag parties, so your repertoire has to be varied and big.
Not only do you have to get the gig in the first place, but you have to be able to keep it. One man in the UK who has tons of experience in this field, and has held residencies for years at all type of restaurants is Wayne Goodman.
He has decided to share his experience in this book. If you have ever wanted to know anything about performing at Restaurants, how to get the gig, and more importantly KEEP the gig, this is the book for you!!
